Job Description
The Purchaser will play a critical role in keeping things moving in a dynamic time critical environment. This is a hands-on role that requires a quick learner, who is a creative problem solver, skilled negotiator, expert communicator and whose attention to detail is second to none. The ideal candidate is conscientious, proactive, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments such as international motorsport.
Essential Responsibilities
· Responsible for sourcing and purchasing parts, materials and services required by the team, ensuring these meet quality, cost and delivery targets.
· Work with the team to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for racing parts, materials, and services.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance, and resolving any issues/discrepancies promptly.
· Assist in negotiating contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the business.
· Prepare and raise purchase orders, track the order progress, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
· Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
· Support budget planning, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of the purchasing processes, identifying best practices, and implementing innovative solutions that align with the team and financial goals and parameters
Required Qualifications
· Motorsport experience required
· Strong understanding of the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with suppliers and contractors.
· Highly organized with strong time management skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines in high-pressure environments.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
· Proactive, collaborative, and innovative mindset.
